Send a message to this menteeI am a 51 year old out-of-work photographer who has spent the last 25+ years in the "imaging" industry (photography, assisting, editing, printing/processing, training, etc.). After becoming disillusioned and sidetracked in my career, I have found myself at a crossroads -- unemployed/underemployed, struggling financially, and living with my folks. I have ideas regarding the path I'd like to take (i.e. - working for myself) but am finding incredible resistance from those close to me (family). Being very talented in everything photographic as well as being intellectually gifted (Mensa member), I'm looking for someone who can both guide me in the right direction while also challenging me and holding me accountable to my aspirations. I would love to find someone to discuss my options (and thoughts) regarding my future endeavors.
What I Expect From A Mentor:
First and foremost, to be honest with me regarding my thoughts, my abilities and my options. I am open to different directions as long as they maximize my opportunities, so I would expect my mentor to understand the direction I'd like to take (and why) as well as my goals and potential so we can work together to find my best path forward.
